What is the IATA AGM?
➡️ The IATA AGM (Annual General Meeting) is the yearly gathering of the International Air Transport Association. This event brings together key players in the aviation industry, including airlines, industry professionals, and regulatory authorities, to discuss crucial topics, strategies, and innovations. The meeting features panels, presentations, and networking activities, culminating in significant decisions for the future of the industry.
▶️ In 2024, the IATA AGM will be held from June 2-4 in Dubai, UAE, hosted by Emirates.
Leadership and Historical Context:
▶️ In 2023, the IATA Chairman was Mehmet Tevfik Nane, Chairman of the Board of Pegasus Airlines, who served until the 79th AGM in Istanbul. The 2024 IATA Chairman is Yvonne Manzi Makolo, CEO of RwandAir, the first woman to hold this position. At the Dubai AGM, Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, will assume the role of IATA Chairman.
