FedEx’s Boeing B767 Istanbul Flight Landed on Fuselage

The front landing gear of FedEx’s Boeing B767 type cargo plane #FX6238 Paris – Istanbul flight did not open. The aircraft first passed the runway for control purposes and then a decision was made to land on the fuselage.
The pilots made a body landing on runway 34L. IGA and ARFF teams intervened the aircraft. No injuries were reported.

Latest Situation After the Incident
– Work has begun to evacuate the aircraft from the runway. Rescue vehicles are expected and plans are being made for the undamaged evacuation of the aircraft.
– Runway 16R is currently NOTAMed. All operations at the airport are carried out via the second and third runways. Flights continue without any problems.
– The rescue operation is expected to be completed by the evening hours, but the runway will not be used for a while after the rescue operation.
– Runway 16R will be closed for two days after the rescue operation. During this time, the damaged parts of the runway will be repaired.
